Lydia Bolton

Lydia Bolton Assists with all types of sampling and data collection in the field as well as in the laboratory related to plant growth and physiology. Assists with getting seeds ready for planting, helps with post-harvest activities like weighing, sub-sampling, grading, shipping samples for analysis etc. Lydia assists with soybean rust monitoring in the sentinel plots and updating the Pest Information Platform for Extension (PIPE) for soybean rust. She helps with preparing routine lab reagents, performing lab analysis, cleaning labware etc. Lydia also helps with data entry and data organization before getting it publication ready.

Ethan Bolton Performs a range of tasks including day to day field preparation and field maintenance activities such as planting, pesticide spraying and fertilizing. Gueorgui Anguelov

Gueorgui Anguelov One of the lead technicians in Dr. Wright and Dr. Small’s on the Brassica carinata biofuel research program. He is responsible for in season field data collection, related to carinata growth, development and genotype screening. Handles instruments related to crop physiology measurements like the LICOR, LAI meter, pH meter, Nitrate analyzer etc. In addition he assists with regular soil and water sampling, processes soil samples to be sent for analyses, and collates data to make them publication worthy.

Maynard Douglas

Maynard Douglas Manages all field activities for the Agronomy Dept. under Dr. David Wright and Dr. Ian Small. Maynard has a degree in Agricultural Engineering and is responsible for developing study design and preparing plot maps, operating equipment for planting, spraying pesticides, harvesting, and supervising personnel that perform similar activities. He is very well versed with latest agricultural equipment involved in precision agriculture. He communicates directly with clients and designs studies to meet their objectives. Maynard is responsible for recording day to day field activities, analyzing data, and writing reports.

Ramdeo Seepaul

Ramdeo Seepaul Is the co-lead with Dr. David Wright on the Feedstock Development team of the Southeast Partnership for Advanced renewables from Carinata (SPARC). As co-lead he coordinates and directs all the multi-site, multi-year studies planned under this USDA-NIFA funded Coordinated Agricultural Project (CAP). He serves as a liaison between feedstock development team and other workstreams within SPARC. As a post-doctoral associate at North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC), Quincy, FL, he worked on a $1.5 million bioenergy grant from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) where he developed, monitored and evaluated research in Brassica carinata

He deals with all heavy agricultural field equipment which includes operation as well as maintenance and repair. Chuck is extremely versatile and can improve upon and manipulate existing equipment as the study design or situation demands.

Kelly O’Brien

Kelly O’Brien Develops field and greenhouse study designs, maintains greenhouses, collects and analyzes data and prepares reports for clients and funding agencies. Kelly manages soybean rust sentinel plots at multiple locations in Florida and scouts of soybean rust on Soybean and Kudzu. He coordinates updates on soybean rust on the Pest Information Platform for Extension (PIPE) based on sentinel plot data. Kelly is responsible for personnel management and resourcing for the program. He manages procurement for these departments and ensures that all field supplies, equipment and vehicle parts are ordered and inventoried in a timely manner.

Sheeja George Sheeja George is the Project Manager for $ 15 mil USDA-NIFA funded Coordinated Agricultural Project (CAP) titled Southeast Partnership for Advanced Renewables from Carinata (SPARC). She holds the primary responsibility of engaging with all the SPARC workstreams and SPARC management as well as with the funding agency to ensure smooth functioning of this multi-disciplinary, multi-institution, public-private initiative. She also is involved in several cropping system related research and extension within the program such as the sod-based rotation system.
